TerraPeek — Privacy Policy

On-device information

No account is required. Language, display preferences, favorites and mission progress are stored on the device and are not sent by the app to a MikiCom server. Favorites can be removed in the app; uninstalling the app removes its local preferences. The current app code contains no advertising or usage-analytics SDK and does not request photo, microphone or contacts access. Location access is requested only at the user’s initiative, as described below. Sharing occurs only when the user chooses to share and selects a destination.

External map services

Satellite tiles are requested directly from NASA GIBS. Network requests expose ordinary technical information, such as IP address, request time and the requested tile URL, to the service provider. NASA operates its own privacy and security policies; MikiCom does not control NASA server logs. Detailed maps and place searches use Apple MapKit and are processed by Apple under its policies. When My Location is selected, location is requested only after tapping My Location and granting access while using the app, to center the map. There is no background tracking or automatic location storage; users can explicitly save a place as a favorite. The requested map region is sent to Apple and NASA depending on the viewing mode. Parent area and store

The parent-gated area may open physical-product pages on the MikiCom website in a secure browser. The website may use cookies and measurement services and receive technical information. Order and payment details are entered on the website under its privacy policy, not stored in a local TerraPeek journal.
